Guided tours in English
Guided tours are available on request. The guide will walk through the permanent exhibition and selected objects will be put into historical context. The prize is ISK 1000 (and not less than 10000 for the group).
The Icelandic Yule
An illustrated presentation in English
On Saturday the 19th of December 2009 Dr. Terry Gunnell, Head of Folkloristics at the University of Iceland will give an illustrated presentation in English reviewing the beliefs and traditions of Icelandic Christmas traditions in the past and present. The presentation starts at 13 pm. After the presentation, The English-Speaking Union of Iceland will offer light refreshments. Admission is free of charge.

Christmas Programme
The National Museum's Christmas Programme begins on the 6th of December at 2pm. The Museum‘s Christmas exhibition opens on the Square. A secret guest will visit the Museum. Should we be scared?!
